Parade of Gulf Veterans down Michigan Avenue, past the Art Institute of Chicago, in a review that lasted four hours. In the Persian Gulf War of January-February 1991 a U.S. led coalition came to the aid of Kuwait, which was occupied by Iraqi military forces more than six months earlier. They destroyed a major part of the Iraqi armed forces and secured Iraq's compliance with the terms of United Nations resolutions passed during the interval of conflict.
